Argentine forward Julian Alvarez has openly admitted that he intends to part ways with Atletico Madrid, bringing an end to growing speculation surrounding his future at the Spanish club.
Alvarez made the disclosure while speaking with ESPN following Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Austria at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
“I don’t want to hide or act like I don’t want to be clear. I try to be honest.
“I spoke to Atlético people and I think the best for everyone involved is for me to leave.
“I want to fulfill my dream.”
The striker’s comments have intensified transfer speculation, with several elite European clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.
Among the clubs linked with the Argentine international are Real Madrid, Arsenal and Barcelona, all of whom are believed to be interested in securing his services.
Reports indicate that Atletico Madrid have already turned down an offer worth €150 million from Real Madrid for the attacker.
Alvarez’s latest remarks are expected to fuel further discussions regarding his next destination as the summer transfer window gathers momentum.
