The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has revealed that he was aware that he and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would not emerge victorious in the election even before the results were declared.
Okowa disclosed this at a recent event held in his home state, Delta.
The former Delta State governor said his reading of the political atmosphere was so strong that he had already informed Christian leaders about the expected outcome before Nigerians headed to the polls.
“I knew we would not win the election. And even when I met with the Christian leaders, I told them that APC will win, while PDP will come second and then Labour Party will come third,” he said.
ZINGTIE recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election, with Atiku Abubakar finishing second and Peter Obi of the Labour Party taking third place.
