Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has reportedly selected former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, as his running mate.
This was confirmed to ZINGTIE on Saturday by the immediate past chairman of ADC in Rivers State, Leader Sampson.
Amaechi had earlier participated in the ADC presidential primary election but was defeated by the former vice president.
Before the primary, Amaechi had publicly stated that his intention in obtaining the ADC presidential nomination form was not to later become Vice President.
He also strongly rejected the outcome of the primary election, which some aggrieved members of the party claimed was manipulated in favour of Atiku.
However, when asked whether Amaechi had accepted the vice presidential position, Leader Sampson simply responded, “yes.”
