Buried gun, 65 live cartridges discovered at Bama construction site

A concealed gun and 65 rounds of live ammunition were found by Borno State police at a building site in Bama town, which is part of the Bama Local Government Area.

A casual laborer discovered a suspicious package while excavating the foundation for a new building on Wednesday at around 12:00 p.m., according to sources Zagazola Makama was able to access.

The Divisional Police Officer and the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Bama responded quickly once this was reported to the authorities.

65 live 22-caliber bullet cartridges and a single-barrel pump-action gun that had been hidden underground and wrapped in a polythene bag were found.

Since the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has begun a thorough investigation into the event, police claim efforts are still underway to identify the property’s owner.
