“As of Friday, September 12, the combined figures of the completed online pre-registration and the physical (in-person) registration is 509,929 out of which 229,758 (45.06 per cent) are male and 280,171 (54.94 per cent) are female.

“In terms of age and occupation, 378,132 (74.15 per cent) are young people between the ages of 18 and 34 while 196,529 (38.54 per cent) are students,” he said.

Olumekun mentioned that comprehensive registration statistics broken down by state, gender, age group, profession, and disability status have been published on INEC’s official website and other digital channels for public viewing.

He also revealed that the online pre-registration phase in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ended on Monday, September 15.

Over the next two weeks, in-person registration will be conducted at designated centers.

From September 29 to October 8, the registration process will extend to all 62 wards within the FCT.

He concluded by stating that detailed addresses of the registration venues have already been made available on INEC’s official platforms.
