Chris Oyakhilome recently opened up about a difficult period in his family life involving his second daughter, Charlene Oyakhilome, who was reportedly paralyzed for several months as a child.
According to the cleric, doctors informed the family that the young girl might never walk again.
Pastor Chris shared the emotional account while recounting one of the most challenging experiences his family had faced.
Rather than organising a special public crusade for his daughter, he explained that he spent time daily speaking words of faith concerning her recovery.
The cleric said he repeatedly declared healing over her bones, tendons and ligaments despite seeing no immediate physical improvement.
The account traced events from the moment Charlene suddenly lost the ability to walk to the period doctors reportedly gave their verdict concerning her condition.
The following was Pastor Chris’s narration as he shared it publicly.
“My younger daughter became four years old. She became suddenly crippled. She could not walk. She could not walk. It happened in my presence.”
He explained that he first noticed something was wrong while observing her struggle to climb steps at home.
According to him, another pastor who was nearby initially encouraged the child to stand up and walk, believing nothing serious had happened.
However, Pastor Chris said he quickly sensed that the situation was unusual because the child remained on the floor and began moving like a baby.
He added that at the time, he did not immediately understand the exact nature of the problem or how to specifically pray about it.
The cleric stated that after initial prayers, his wife later took Charlene to the hospital for medical examination.
According to him, concern grew after they remained at the hospital for several hours without returning home.
He recalled calling his wife around 7 p.m. before eventually speaking directly with the doctor attending to the child.
According to Pastor Chris, the doctor informed him that Charlene might never walk again.
The pastor explained that despite years of conducting healing crusades and ministry activities, the situation deeply challenged him personally as a father.
He said he and his wife then decided to pray and consistently speak words of healing concerning their daughter’s body.
According to him, he would regularly lock himself inside his office and repeatedly make declarations concerning Charlene’s recovery.
“She’ll walk again, she’ll jump. She’ll walk, she’ll jump. She’ll walk, she’ll jump,” he recalled repeatedly declaring.
He stated that he spoke those words daily, sometimes thousands of times, while refusing to accept images of permanent disability that came to his mind.
Pastor Chris further explained that he remained determined to continue confessing healing regardless of how long it would take.
According to him, his faith was rooted in biblical teachings about speaking to situations and believing for change.
He cited Jesus’ teaching about faith and speaking to mountains, insisting that Christians should actively apply God’s word rather than constantly begging for miracles.
The cleric stressed that his mind was already made up that victory would come regardless of the circumstances.
He added that no matter where he found himself, he continued declaring healing over Charlene’s muscles, tendons and body functions.
UNTIL ONE DAY SHE STOOD. SHE DIDN’T WALK, SHE STOOD! THE LEGS CARRIED HER BUT THEY BENT BACKWARDS IN A TERRIBLE WAY.
I shouted nooooo, don’t stand that way. She said daddy I can’t. I said YOU CAN!!! And she fell down.
