Fresh Political Twist Rocks Rivers as Fubara’s Camp Suffers Another Blow

Mr. Darlington Orji, the immediate past Senior Special Assistant to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, alongside former Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Collins Onunwo, have reportedly joined the Rainbow Coalition in the state.

ZINGTIE reports that the Rainbow Coalition is a bipartisan political alliance spearheaded by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Recall that Governor Fubara had, before the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election, announced his withdrawal from the governorship race.

The governor’s decision paved the way for the emergence of House of Representatives member, Kingsley Chinda, as the APC governorship candidate.

The development, however, reportedly unsettled some of the governor’s allies, who claimed they had stood firmly behind him since the beginning of the prolonged political crisis in the state.

Darlington, in a post shared on his Facebook page while posting photographs of himself alongside other members of the coalition, said he has “returned home to my family”.
