Fresh Twist Emerges as NDC Leader Opens Up on Aisha Yesufu

National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, has disclosed that human rights activist Aisha Yesufu was offered a House of Representatives ticket by the party but declined the opportunity.

Dickson made the revelation during a stakeholders’ meeting of the party held in Abuja, where he addressed several issues surrounding recent developments within the NDC.

According to him, the offer was jointly extended by himself and the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as part of efforts to encourage broader participation within the party.

The disclosure comes amid growing tensions and internal disagreements that have recently surfaced within the NDC.

The party has witnessed a series of exchanges among key figures in recent days as debates continue over leadership decisions and political strategy.

Recall that Yesufu, in a statement shared on her verified X account on Thursday, accused Dickson of engaging in a battle that she believes does not exist.

Her comments added a fresh dimension to the ongoing conversations within the party and sparked reactions from supporters and stakeholders.

Dickson’s latest remarks are expected to further fuel discussions surrounding the relationship between party leaders and some of its prominent members as the NDC navigates its internal challenges ahead of future political engagements.

“Now, talking about the FCT, do you know that Peter Obi and I offered Aisha Yesufu a House of Representatives ticket, but she turned it down?

“House of Representatives that people are fighting for, she said she’s too big for it,” he said.
