Claims that Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo was personally chosen by political godfathers to be remotely controlled as the state’s most important citizen have been rejected.

When asked about his political heritage in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today show, Okpebholo refuted the allegations.

He said that the Almighty God had supported his desire to become governor and assisted him in obtaining office by using specific people.

“Can you even point out one godfather who was pushing me?” he asked.

“God was using people to help me, to support me, to get to where I am today,” he added.
