Tragically, four mobile police officers were slain in an ambush yesterday in Udei, Guma LGA, Benue State.

Queen-Eva Doosh stated that there were no armed Fulani herdsmen in the region and that the police had been sent to the Udei settlement to warn residents against taking matters into their own hands.

But the police were warned by the residents that an ambush was being planned. The kids moved aside to give the police time to deal with the problem, but the cops ignored the warning and continued.

Unfortunately, the attackers retaliated with lethal force when the police fired a warning shot into the air, instantly killing four officers.
