How a man of God fainted after he heard his close associate has opened a church – Mike Bamiloye

Evangelist Mike Bamiloye recently shared a story on Facebook about a senior pastor who lost it all when he discovered a close friend had left to found a new church and taken a sizable portion of the flock with him.

This episode highlights a common problem among ministry leaders who become too protective of their colleagues when they depart, which betrays underlying fears about their calling and abilities as leaders.

Another story that Bamiloye related concerned a senior pastor who prayed over his assistant and gave him a ministry commission, only to find out later that the assistant had already founded his own church. A large number of church employees and choir members had also moved to the new church without telling the senior pastor.

According to him, “I once heard of a Man of God who fainted when he heard that his close associate in the ministry has gone away from him and opened another church. Why must you faint because a man has left you? Another Man of God just finished praying for his Assistant in the Church, to commission him for his coming ministry, not knowing he had already started his church. And half of the Choir members and many of the church workers that did not show up in the church that day had actually resumed in the church of this Associate pastor, without the knowledge of the Senior Pastor.”

“When the Senior Pastor was informed on the pulpit, after commissioning the Associate Pastor, he was shocked, froze and collapsed on the altar. He recovered from the shock much later. When many disciples left Jesus because of His hard teaching, He turned to the remaining twelve and asked if they too wanted to go.
