How husband impregnated maid but the wife induced abortion despite 15 years of childlessness

Mrs. Mary Frank, a 38-year-old lady in Lagos State, has been going through a lot of mental agony because she and her husband, Clement Frank, 42, have been married for 15 years and couldn’t conceive until they hired a housemaid to help with household chores.

The 17-year-old housemaid was brought by the couple from their homeland in Akwa Ibom State to remain with them and help with household chores, according to ZINGTIE.

However, the arrival of the housemaid suggested that Mr. Clement, the husband, had other ideas. In order to conceive, he allegedly made plans with the maid and got her pregnant.

But the wife brought her to the hospital after learning of what had happened and realizing that she was about to lose her marriage to the housemaid. She allegedly made arrangements with a doctor at the hospital to end the pregnancy. The maid became frightened since she desired to continue the pregnancy and give birth.

The cou, Clement and Mary, are in serious danger because of the alarm she sounded. They were arrested, charged in a Lagos State court, and placed under remand due to their alleged behavior.

The wife was accused with helping to terminate the pregnancy, while the husband, Mr. Clement, was charged with defilement and impregnating a minor.

In the Ejigbo area, where they live and the hospital is situated, the incident took place at Kareem Street and St. James Hospital.

Since the case is still pending before the Ogba Magistrate Court, the pair is being prosecuted by police officers from the Lagos State Police’s Gender Section for their alleged behavior. They have been placed under remand in detention at the correctional facility until the case is resolved.
