Iwobi names his GOAT, picks between football’s biggest icons

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has selected Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi as the greatest of all time (GOAT), placing him ahead of Al-Nassr skipper Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speaking during an appearance on the Beast Mode On podcast, the Nigerian international was asked to choose between the two football greats.

He responded instantly, naming Messi without any hesitation.

“I always say Messi,” Iwobi stated. Explaining his choice, he added, “Playing against Ronaldo, the aura was crazy.

“But when I played against Messi, every time he had the ball, there was like a radius where no one could enter that and tackle him.”

Although Ronaldo boasts five Ballon d’Or awards, Messi holds the edge with eight, strengthening his argument in Iwobi’s view.
