After she, her mother, and her sister were allegedly arrested and held by police officers on charges of theft and violence, a Nigerian woman took to social media to plead for assistance.
The woman, who went under the handle @introvert_birdy, shared the tweets on X (previously Twitter), explaining the experience and urging people to help them.

She claims that in addition to her and her family, two of their neighbors were also taken into custody by the police.

She said that the officers had physically abused her sister at the station and had taken her phone, but she did not provide the reason for the arrest.

In her words: “I was just brutalized in my own home! Police stole my phone! Beaten in my own home!”

“Police! They are thieves! They treated me like a criminal! Nigerian police! Maggots!”

“We got to the station and my sister was still beaten to a pulp! In the police station! I’ve been detained in a cell with my mum and sister!”

“I need help! Please! RT! I’ve been detained! My mum, my sister, and two of my neighbors! They have all our phones!”
