According to the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu will make a final judgment about Minister Betta Edu of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation following the completion of the current investigation.

The President suspended Edu on Monday for her suspected involvement in a N585 million fraud.

According to a leaked memo, she recently allowed the transfer of N585 million in social intervention funds into a civil servant’s private account.

In light of this, Tinubu sent the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate the allegation.

In response, Imo State governor and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum Hope Uzodinma pleaded with Nigerians not to jump to the conclusion that Edu is responsible for the corruption charges levied against her.

Uzodinma advised Nigerians only to judge Edu at the conclusion of the current investigation.

He made his remarks to the media during the Forum’s Abuja summit.

“And in the wisdom of the President, she is being investigated. It is after the investigation is concluded and the report made available to the government that it will take a final decision,” he said.
