The Director of New Media and Strategic Communications of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Theo Abu Agada, has described former Labour Party, LP, vice-presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed as a “bitter ex.”
Agada made the remark following Datti’s recent claim that Peter Obi and other politicians seeking the presidency in 2027 cannot transform Nigeria.
Datti had also urged President Bola Tinubu to step aside in 2027, arguing that he should not hand over power to any of the presidential candidates challenging him because, according to him, they are not fit to occupy the office.
During an interview over the weekend, Datti further revealed that he had warned Obi against leaving the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Recall that Obi left the LP earlier this year for the ADC, citing the leadership crisis within the party.
In his pursuit of a presidential ticket, Obi later exited the ADC for the NDC, where he emerged as the party’s presidential candidate, with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso named as his running mate.
Reacting to Datti’s latest remarks, Agada dismissed the former LP vice-presidential candidate’s comments in a post on X.
“Datti Baba-Ahmed is just a bitter ex.”
