Abdu Maikaba, head coach of the Nigeria U-20 national football team, has said he feels honoured by the opportunity to lead the team, ZINGTIE reports.
Maikaba was appointed as the new head coach of the seven-time African champions two weeks ago.
The experienced tactician will lead the Flying Eagles at the 2025 WAFU B U-20 Championship in July.
He previously served as an assistant coach with the Flying Eagles and Nigeria’s U-17 side, the Nigeria U-17 national football team.
Maikaba stated that taking charge of the team is a huge opportunity.
“I am deeply honored for this role as Head Coach of the Nigeria U-20 Flying Eagles,” Maikaba wrote on X.
“To lead this team is a massive responsibility and a privilege I do not take lightly. Nigeria’s football history is built on passion, grit, and talent.”
