Police uncover a hidden truth after a tragic night

It was reported that a married woman was allegedly killed by her supposed secret lover, leaving residents of a small community in the Ashanti Region in shock.

According to the police, the woman had misled her husband prior to the tragic incident.

The suspect, identified as Abena Menis, was a married mother from Kumasi who lived with her husband and children.

She reportedly told her husband that she was travelling to Accra for hospital training, whereas she had actually gone to meet a man she was secretly involved with.

Police reports indicate that she travelled to a location near Obuasi to visit the alleged lover.

Her husband, Kwame Menis, stated that he trusted her completely and had no reason to doubt her explanation.

It was gathered that when the lover discovered that she intended to end the relationship, he allegedly became jealous and angry, leading to a violent confrontation during which he reportedly stabbed her to death.

When police officers arrived at the scene, witnesses who had heard disturbances during the night began to understand the gravity of the situation. The suspect was later apprehended after an unsuccessful attempt to escape.

The bereaved husband expressed deep shock and grief over the incident.

He stated that he was unaware of any extramarital relationship, noting that he trusted her and believed she was where she claimed to be.

Police authorities have urged the public to be mindful of the dangers associated with dishonesty in relationships, warning that secrecy can sometimes lead to tragic outcomes. They also emphasised the importance of openness between partners.

The case has highlighted the risks linked to hidden relationships and how jealousy can escalate into violence.

Authorities have assured the public that the suspect will face prosecution as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, both families involved have requested privacy as they prepare for burial arrangements.
