Popular Hausa praise singer, Dauda Adamu Kahutu, widely known as Rarara, has condemned what he described as the use of Nigeria’s security challenges for political gain, insisting that any opposition figure who builds a campaign around insecurity is “insane.”

Rarara made the remarks in a viral video while reacting to Afrobeats star Davido’s appearance at a 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert.

He criticised the display of messages referencing the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State during the event, arguing that such portrayals negatively project Nigeria on the international stage.

According to him, issues relating to national security should be handled with discretion rather than being turned into public commentary or political messaging.

He further argued that drawing global attention to ongoing security challenges could damage Nigeria’s image and potentially benefit criminal elements.

Rarara also alleged that Davido’s actions were politically influenced, claiming they were aimed at supporting his uncle’s electoral ambitions while casting the current administration in a negative light.

He maintained that no political actor or public figure should base a campaign strategy on insecurity.

“Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully understand the gravity of the issue,” Rarara said, stressing that matters of national security should transcend partisan interests.

He further urged entertainers, influencers, and content creators to be cautious when addressing sensitive security issues, noting that the public may not always understand the complexity of ongoing security operations.

Rarara concluded that while citizens are entitled to express concern over national issues, such expressions should be made responsibly in a way that does not, in his view, undermine the country’s image or security efforts.
