With Mojisola Meranda resigning and Speaker Mudashiru Obasa returning to office, the speakership crisis roiling the Lagos State House of Assembly appears to be coming to a conclusion.
It was learned that Ms. Meranda left her job to promote harmony among the Assembly and the All Progressives Congress, APC, which is in power in Lagos.
During Monday’s plenary, lawmakers came together to say a poignant goodbye to Meranda as their valued Speaker.
During the parting speech, Hon. Desmond Elliot, the lawmaker for the Surulere Constituency, broke down.
