Bala Muhammad, 60, has been invited to be questioned by the Bauchi State Sharia Police in Hisbah after he shared pictures of women he reportedly had affairs with on social media.

Muhammad was featured in about 30 pictures with different ladies, many of them were middle-aged and wearing skimpy attire, according to ZINGTIE.

Social media users have responded to the pictures, with some saying married men in Bauchi should protect their wives from Bala Muhammad, who seemed to be a “chronic womaniser.”

However, Muhammad Muhammad Bununu, the State Hisbah’s Public Relations Officer, acknowledged over the phone with our reporter on Friday that the Commission had received multiple complaints on Bala Muhammad from the relatives of the women in question.

In order to look into the situation further, the Commission invited Muhammad to be questioned.

“He was initially detained by the Police, but we requested his release on Thursday for our investigation. He has since been returned to Police custody,” Bununu stated.

The PRO claims that in his interview with Hisbah, Muhammad clarified that the videos he shared on Facebook were shot about 20 years ago, when the majority of the women were single.

He apologised and asked the women and their families to pardon him.

Muhammad, who is over 60, stated that he is single and has no children.

Before his arrest and transfer to Hisbah, the Dass LGA native, who now lives in Bauchi City, revealed that his brother had told him about the viral images.
