Shock as man discovers that the pastor who officiated his wedding is the father of his 2 children

After it was established that Farai Hatirarami is not the biological father of the children Fatai had thought were his, Eunice Mururi and Hatirarami’s marriage fell apart.

After DNA testing revealed that he fathered two children with the woman whose wedding he performed, a pastor from the End Time Messages church in Chiredzi was unexpectedly ordered to pay child support.

After it was established that Farai Hatirarami is not the biological father of the children Fatai had thought were his, Eunice Mururi and Hatirarami’s marriage fell apart. Recently, Mururi brought Pastor Vhetu before the Chiredzi Magistrate Court to request US$700 in child maintenance for her two children, ages four and eight.

In a shocking development, Pastor Vhetu sought for a smaller maintenance payment even though he acknowledged fathering the children in court. He maintained that tithes and offerings—which frequently take the form of food hampers rather than cash—are the main sources of his income as a pastor.

Vhetu, represented by Farai Chauke of F. Chauke and Associates, stated that he was unable to pay maintenance because he did not get a regular pay cheque and could only afford 150 ZiG per child.

Vhetu disclosed that in addition to his pastoral responsibilities, he is a farmer and already provides for eight other children. He promised to pay for the kids’ school tuition and uniforms and told the judge that he only has an EcoCash account and no bank account.

However, he made the controversial suggestion that only in June or December should new clothing be purchased, mockingly saying that “only Elon Musk’s children receive new clothes every month.”

Vhetu’s reasons failed to impress Magistrate Diana Musiiwa, who declared his offer “insincere” and ordered him to pay US$175 a month for both children. The pastor’s actions and the dissolution of the marriage he had celebrated have left the community in disbelief.
