Suspected militias shoot and kill youth president

In the Plateau State local government area of Bokkos, a community youth leader was shot dead during an ambush by alleged armed militias.

Zagazola Makama claims that the attack happened early on Thursday morning when a patrol team consisting of hunters, vigilantes, and soldiers came under fire along the Horop–Laban–Nawala feeder road, which connects the states of Nasarawa and Plateau.

The victim, identified as Mr. Dabit Clement Joseph, 47, also known as Chepti, was the Horop District Youth President. He was immediately murdered in the assault.

Since then, his body has been moved to Luna Hospital’s morgue in Bokkos.

Investigations have started, according to police officials, and security personnel are working harder to find the ambush’s culprits.
