‘They can beat them’ — Ex-midfielder names team Arsenal want to avoid

Former Nigel Reo-Coker has claimed that Arsenal would prefer to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League final instead of Paris Saint-Germain.

Reo-Coker made the remark after Arsenal knocked out Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium.

Recall that the Gunners secured a place in the Champions League final after edging Atletico Madrid 1-0 on Tuesday, courtesy of Bukayo Saka’s lone strike of the encounter.

Speaking after the final whistle, Reo-Coker said, as quoted by CBS Sports Golazo, “They [Arsenal] probably would want to face Bayern Munich [in the Champions League final] because they have got the confidence of beating them.”

Bayern Munich will take on PSG in the other Champions League semi-final second-leg clash, with the winner set to meet Arsenal in the final.

Vincent Kompany’s side had earlier suffered a 3-1 defeat against Arsenal during the Champions League league phase earlier this season.
