Muluwerk, an Ethiopian woman, says she hasn’t had any food or water for sixteen years.

Muluwerk claims that she lost her desire for food and water early in life. At the age of 10, she stopped eating, and at the age of 26, it has been 16 years since her last meal. Beans were the last food she ate.

She and her family reside in Jimma, Addis Ababa. The single mother revealed that she received medical examinations in Dubai, Qatar, and India. After a week of testing and a mental health evaluation, they concluded that she was normal and healthy.

Drew Binsky, a well-known YouTuber and blogger from the UK who holds a Guinness World Record, traveled to Ethiopia to learn more about her tale. Following his encounter with Muluwerk, he learned her account was validated by her medical examinations in Dubai. He and his team investigated further and verified her account.

“When I was pregnant with my daughter, doctors gave me glucose to supplement the natural body energy, and when I gave birth, she fed on artificial milk. Living such a life is the work of God.” She said.

Muluwerk stated that although her life has startled many people, particularly those in her church, she feels that God has purposefully made her the focus of healthy examiners.

Although our systems are innovative and can extract energy and fuel from fat and muscle storage without food, it’s only a matter of days before we die. Without food, the body’s attempts to combat starvation—which include breaking down fatty tissue and creating glucose—will fail, and death will result. According to estimates, starving individuals weaken in 30 to 50 days and pass away in 43 to 70 days.

How long can you survive with water?

While one can survive days without food, water is more important. As a general rule, a person can survive without water for about three days. The longest known person to go without water is Andreas Mihavecz, an Austrian bricklayer who was locked in a police cell for 18 days in 1979. His case even made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
