Two women throw acid on 21-year-old woman after accusing her of doing this with men they knew

In Trinidad and Tobago, a 21-year-old hairdresser named Jessie James is receiving treatment for chemical burns after being attacked by two women who showered her in acid because she was interacting with guys they knew.

Galia Noel, Jessie’s aunt (pictured), verified in an interview with Guardian Media on Saturday, March 1, 2025, that one of the women who requested a time slot to get her hair done in Belmont got in touch with her niece.

On Wednesday, a lady who claimed to be a relative of the person scheduling the meeting apparently met James and led her to a track where she was confronted.

The women threw two steaming cups filled with an unidentified liquid at her during the confrontation and accused James of talking to males they knew and ran off.

According to Noel, her niece told her that she cried for help and was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital by two women, where she remained until yesterday.

Noel expressed her profound sadness over the occurrence, calling her niece a “gentle, soft soul” who was unworthy of such brutality.

“The two eyes were affected as well as her lip and the softer parts of her face,” she said.

“Her two eyes are bruised on the outside, she can’t open them for too long, but when she does, you can see how the eyes are bulging, they are both very red.

“She can see in one eye but it’s a bit fuzzy, but she can’t see through the other one at all.”

Noel expressed her profound disappointment that women would abuse another woman in such a cruel manner.

“Whoever did this is a hypocrite because they’re trying to damage another woman. Even if whatever they accused her of is true, they didn’t decide to have a civilised conversation, they attacked her in the most gruesome way because this could have been worse.”

According to Noel, she gave a statement to the police on Thursday afternoon.
