According to Pastor Femi Lazarus, the public has no right to openly criticize the church or its leaders.

According to him, the pastor has a responsibility to uphold the hierarchy of the church.

He went on to say that the church will no longer remain mute in the face of internet criticism of ministers and their work.

He said: “The matter of the local church and the body of Christ is not a conversation for every Tom, Dick and Harry

He went on to say that because of the church hierarchy, he has the power to summon music ministers to order in his capacity as pastor.

However, he stated: “A music artist is not a kingdom based minister, hence a music artist is not for the church.”

He continued by outlining the distinctions between a music minister and a music artist.

He went on to say that he is addressing music ministers rather than musicians when he corrects vocalists.

This comes after he came under fire for denouncing gospel artists who charge exorbitant fees to perform in churches.

Speaking at a church, Femi Lazarus added that three ministries have formed an alliance and will now attempt to remove the online platform of anyone who criticizes pastors or their ministry.

He said: “The moment you go online to publicise what is wrong about the ministry, in one minute, the three ministries will come together, there’s a platform now, we’ll bring down your platform immediately.”

Nigerians have been outraged by his threat and have criticized him on X.
