DJ Cuppy: I’ve dated a footballer, a model, and even a bus driver now I just want a simple 9 to 5 man (video)

A Nigerian celebrity has opened up about spending £400 on dating platforms and how her sister’s wedding influenced her perspective on relationships.

Florence Otedola—widely recognized as DJ Cuppy—has experienced relationships with a variety of men, including a model, a footballer, and even a bus driver.

Now, after years of highly publicized relationships and a brief engagement, the 33-year-old says she is moving away from complexity. What she now desires is unexpectedly simple: a calm, everyday man with a 9-to-5 job and little to no presence on social media.

Cuppy shared insights into her dating experiences during an open conversation with ZeZe Millz, revealing that many of her past relationships began through dating apps—including one she paid £400 (over ₦700,000) to access.

“I’ve dated all kinds of men,” she said. “But now all I want is a simple 9–5 man with no social media. I once dated a bus driver I met on a dating app that I paid £400 to join.”

So what changed?

According to Cuppy, witnessing her younger sister, Temi Otedola, marry singer Mr Eazi significantly reshaped her outlook on relationships. The glamour and drama that once appealed to her no longer hold the same attraction.

Her personal life has often been in the spotlight. In 2022, she got engaged to British boxer Ryan Taylor, but the relationship ended shortly after. She has also been associated with music executive Asa Asika.

At this stage, however, Cuppy appears to be prioritizing peace over publicity.

No footballers. No models. Just a regular man who works a routine job and keeps a low profile away from social media.
