Minister of Works, David Umahi, has come to the defence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, amid reports of disagreement over the Rainbow Coalition.
Umahi maintained that he and Wike remained part of the same political family ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He made the clarification on Wednesday in Abuja while speaking with journalists about the Federal Government’s infrastructure projects.
According to Umahi, there was no political disagreement between him and Wike, insisting that attempts by their political opponents to portray them as being in conflict had not affected their relationship.
“We need Wike as Wike needs us. So, it’s one family. There’s no rift between us,” Umahi said.
The clarification follows earlier disagreements within the All Progressives Congress, APC, over the Rainbow Coalition, a political platform championed by Wike to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
