Christian Onumajuru, a Nigerian man, has counselled people to leave violent marriages and partnerships.

On Friday, November 29, while grieving for Jessica Olua, a 25-year-old Nigerian lady who was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, he posted the advice on Facebook.

He also admonished people including parents who encouraged victims of domestic violence to stay in abusive relationships.

“She was beaten to d3ath by her hubby, a man who was supposed to protect her. Marriage is honourable and the bed undefiled. But, where the purpose for which it was established is no longer there, it becomes a scam…. You quietly take a walk. You should choose peace over drama,” he wrote.

He also condemned those including parents who pushed victims of domestic abuse to continue in abusive situations.

If you continually remain in that abusive union as a result of what people would say, bear in mind that when you die, those same people will only feast at your burial

When their children are in abusive relationships, parents should learn how to step in and help. A parent who supports their child in staying in such a bad relationship just because of the church or what people would say, is not fit to be a parent.

Women suffer more because of the children; they forget that these children will live until they pass away. Heaven doesn’t have marriage.

Separate peacefully if you two are unable to resolve your issues amicably because they are irreconcilable.Being alive and divorced while watching your children grow is preferable to being dead and gone.

Love is not blind. Think carefully before you jump—a broken relationship is preferable to a strained marriage. By God’s grace, may her soul and the souls of the faithful who have passed away rest in peace.
