Following Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States of America, the Federal Government has congratulated him.
Nigeria and the United States have benefited from collaboration in a number of areas of shared interest, particularly advancing sustainable development, good governance, and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, according to a statement signed Tuesday by Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Nigeria therefore looks forward to further strengthening our historic, strong, and vibrant strategic partnership for the benefit of all our people,” the statement added.
On Monday, Trump took the oath of office for a historic second term.
He immediately outlined more than 100 policies that he planned to put into effect after taking office, one of which was the threat to revoke birthright citizenship for foreigners and visitors who lacked authorisation to live in the nation.
Additionally, he threatened to deport undocumented immigrants living in the country.
