The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for Wesley University, Ondo State, to commence 10 new academic programs for the 2024/2025 academic session.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Sunday Obeka, the approval was granted following a resource verification visit by a panel of experts, who assessed the university’s human and material resources.
The NUC conveyed its approval in an official letter sent to the university on January 27. The letter, signed by Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, confirmed that the newly approved programs would run at the main campus of the university.
The approved courses include (link unavailable) in Entrepreneurship, (link unavailable) in Office Management Technology, (link unavailable) in Surveying, and O.D. in Optometry, as well as postgraduate programs in Urban and Regional Planning, Estate Management, and Economics. Other approved programs include (link unavailable) in Public Health, B.Rad. in Radiography, and postgraduate programs in Community Health.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed his delight at the approval, stating that it “marks a significant milestone for Wesley University by enhancing its academic offerings and providing more opportunities for students in diverse fields of study.
