Premier League icon, Alan Shearer, has predicted Pep Guardiola’s next job as the Spaniard prepares to leave Manchester City FC this summer.

Shearer believes the former FC Barcelona manager will move into international management as his next challenge.

The final Premier League match of the season against Aston Villa FC on Sunday is increasingly expected to be Guardiola’s last game in charge after a decade at the club.

Shearer suggested it could take some time before Guardiola returns to management.

The 55-year-old has previously been linked with the Brazil national football team coaching role, and the former England captain believes international football could suit Guardiola after ten years of intense pressure and success at City.

He told Betfair, “What lies ahead for Pep Guardiola after City? A break! I believe it will resemble what we have observed in the past; he might take a year off and then return revitalized and ready to go again.

“I can envision him leading an international team; I won’t claim it’s less demanding, but perhaps it won’t be as intense, presenting a different challenge for him.”

It has also been widely reported that former Chelsea FC manager, Enzo Maresca, is set to replace him at the Etihad Stadium.
