The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Rep. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has stated that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) will lose in Kano before 1 p.m. on election day in 2027.
Speaking on Sunday in Kano at an empowerment event hosted by Senate Deputy President Barau I. Jibrin, Doguwa said he was confident in the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) unity in the state, saying it would help the party regain power.
“With the unity in our party now, by God’s grace, we will reclaim our mandate in Kano before 1 p.m. on election day in 2027. The NNPP will be defeated,” he said.
The empowerment program, which gave 63 automobiles and 1,037 motorcycles to APC officials at the ward and municipal levels, was also discussed by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin during the ceremony.
According to him, the move was intended to strengthen the grassroots and support the party faithful
“We decided to start with empowering our party leaders who are part and parcel of the society,” Barau stated.
“We know that members of the leadership of APC are well-to-do people because most of them are farmers and hardworking individuals. And that’s why we decided to empower them more so that they can live a happy life.”
Along with praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements, he highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he claimed will make it easier for students at Bayero University and other schools to acquire education.
“The President has an array of programs designed for us,” Barau stated.
“You see what he is doing with NELFUND, students can now go to school. He has also created a commission to intervene, restructure, and improve infrastructure.”
The APC’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, praised the Tinubu administration’s economic achievements. According to him, it is already producing favorable outcomes.
“We have to thank Mr. President. We have to thank him for the reforms that he initiated. We have started seeing the positive results of the reforms in Nigeria today. The cost of petrol has started coming down, the prices of food items have started coming down, and the Naira has started appreciating. We assure you that Nigeria will be taken to the next level,” he said.
