According to the company, the programme is delivered at SPIE’s training facility in Port Harcourt and follows the OPITO International Technical Standards. “By offering world-class training at no cost, we are equipping individuals with the skills they need to thrive in the oil and gas industry,” said Guillaume Niarfeix, Managing Director of SPIE Nigeria.

The 12-week programme targets two local communities, Andoni and Rebisi, with 40 participants across four batches, ensuring gender balancing with equal male and female representation in each group. The programme blends theoretical and practical learning to equip participants with globally recognised skills.

Niarfeix emphasized that each graduate receives a certificate upon completion, validating their competence and improving their employment prospects. “We believe that this initiative will make a significant impact on the lives of these individuals and their communities,” he added.

The company urged stakeholders and corporate bodies to collaborate in expanding the programme to more communities, promoting local content development and capacity building in the energy sector.
