Hundreds of PDP members have switched to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State’s Suru Local Government Area, giving the party a significant boost.

Prominent APC leader Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Naingila hosted a political meeting on Saturday to welcome the decampees from Aljannare Ward. They acknowledged Naingila’s grassroots support and Governor Nasir Idris’s developmental achievements as major factors in their choice.

Alhaji Shehu Agadas, speaking on behalf of the defectors, claimed that recent defections of important political heavyweights, such as Hon. Muhammad Ruwa RK and Alhaji Riskuwa Dakingari, indicated that the APC was gaining ground in the region and that this had an impact on the decision.

The decampees declared their willingness to back Governor Idris’s administration and swore allegiance to the APC.

Hon. Muhammad Lawal Suru, Hon. Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, and Hon. Usman Abubakar Ladan were among the APC leaders who greeted the new members and promised them complete party integration.

Leading APC stakeholders from Suru LGA and beyond attended the occasion.
