Governor Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has denied rumors that he is defecting, stating that he is staying in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Adeleke announced this on Monday during the dualization of the 3.5-kilometer Ila township road in Ila-Orangun. He also stated that he would not compromise on his pledge to serve the people.

Despite what he characterized as the persistent uncertainties in the country, he expressed joy over the dualization of the Ila township road project.

According to the governor, he has promised God and the state’s good citizens that he is dedicated to serving them and will never be sidetracked from his promise.

Over 175 kilometers of roads have been rebuilt, renovated, and rehabilitated by his government thus far, he claimed, and numerous dualization and flyover projects are in varying states of completion around the state.

He stated that his administration is committed to seeing the project through to its completion and that the dualization of the 39-kilometer Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe and, finally, Ila Odo road—which connects the town with neighboring Kwara State—is of utmost importance.

“I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain in the party. I’m not going anywhere.

“The second phase, which we are flagging off today, is almost the same length as what was completed in 12 years. By the grace of God, we intend to deliver this project within 12 months.

“Our gathering here to witness the materialisation of a new era is not an accident of history. We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are, and what we will be in the future,” he said.
