Monsuru Ayanfe, a Nollywood actor, talked about his collaboration with Funke Akindele.
When Funke crashed her automobile, Monsuru recalled how he treated him in an interview with Jeff Owolewa. He claimed that he accidentally smashed her new automobile while attempting to load it following a scene in a movie.
Monsuru claimed that even though Funke was upset with him, he was startled when she later expressed regret. He said the director is prone to anger but apologizes when she is at ease.
“I was the one who spoiled Funke Akindele’s new car while I was trying to pack her car after the movie set. Funke is someone who gets angry easily, but when she is calm, she apologises. If she reacts to something someone says, she retraces her steps and apologises”.
He also talked about his friendship with Femi Adebayo and recounted how, at the beginning of his career, he was receiving N5000 from the director. He claimed that of the N20,000 he was earning in salary, Femi was giving him N5000.
“I was collecting N5000 when I started my career from Femi Adebayo because of the passion and flair I had for acting”.
A few months ago, veteran Tola Oladokun gave her Funke a lot of appreciation, explaining how she first met her and attributing her career to her. She also recalled how she was granted another chance to work with Akindele after missing her first one, and that she has since been given more possibilities.
Actor Ijoba Lande revealed in April how Funke had hired him to work on a film at Amen Estate, where he was paid N90,000 for a month.
The actor made a U-turn and apologized to her, saying that the footage was misinterpreted. He said that after complaining to her, Funke continued to pay him extra till he left the place.
A rumored report from 2023 claimed that Funke had persuaded media tycoon Mo Abudu to remove Toyin Abraham from Chief Daddy’s film and replace her with Kate Henshaw. Mo gave in to the pressure. The blogger went on to say that Funke did the same to Beverly Osu, but that Beverly was spared thanks to Joke Silva’s intervention.
Faithia Williams criticized Funke last year for reportedly barring her on Instagram because she supported Mercy Aigbe and her new film. The Yoruba actress let Funke know that she is not her god and that her small-minded behavior didn’t disturb her.
