Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the 2023 Lagos State Labour Party’s candidate for governor, has been characterized as a champion of the electorate by the African Democratic Congress’ Lagos State Chapter, ADC.
The News Agency of Nigeria, or NAN, interviewed Mr. George Ashiru, the state ADC Chairman, in Lagos on Tuesday.
Rhodes-Viviour formally left LP for the ADC on Saturday, as ZINGTIE recalls.
The Lagos ADC chairman responded to the news by calling the politician’s defection a positive move and expressing the party’s happiness to have him join it.
“GRV has shown himself to be a champion of the electorate, from when he was a young Lagos West senatorial candidate in 2019 to being the Labour Party gubernatorial flag bearer in 2023.
“His joining the ADC as part of the coalition of Nigerians into ADC is a patriotic act.
“We at ADC, the home of the coalition of Nigeria’s patriots and long- suffering citizens, warmly welcome him, and further extend our warm handshake to others like him and the electorate at large,” he said.
He stated that Rhodes-Vivour has spearheaded the exodus of numerous Lagos LP members into ADC.
According to him, the party was creating a stronger opposition and a reliable substitute that would benefit Nigerians more.
