Mao Ohuabunwa, who serves as Chairman of the Nyesom Wike-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees, has stated that the current electronic registration of members (e-registration) represents a significant advancement.

Ohuabunwa expressed this comment at the party’s 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, emphasizing that it demonstrates their dedication to modernization, transparency, and credibility in party management.

He stated that a credible membership register is essential for any serious political organization, highlighting its role in strengthening internal democracy, improving planning, and fostering trust among members and stakeholders.

The chairman of the BoT thus urged all federation members to adopt the process and work to make it successful.

“As we move forward, the decisions we take today will shape not only the outcome of our forthcoming National Convention but also the future direction of our party.

“It is therefore important that we approach all matters before us with unity of purpose and a spirit of give and take,” he said.

Addressing the topic of zoning, which he mentioned would soon be brought before the body by the Zoning Committee, Ohuabunwa encouraged members to consider the committee’s recommendations with openness, while being guided by fairness, justice, and the paramount interest of unity.

He believes that no arrangement is flawless, emphasizing that their mutual readiness to support each other for the party’s greater good is what matters most.
