Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi is set to receive a special commemorative plaque in recognition of his landmark 100th appearance for the national team, ZINGTIE reports.

The Fulham star is expected to reach the milestone when Nigeria takes on Portugal in an international friendly scheduled for tonight.

At 30, Iwobi will become one of the select few players to have earned 100 caps for the Super Eagles.

He will join an exclusive list that includes former captain Joseph Yobo, legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, and current skipper Ahmed Musa, all of whom have previously reached the century mark for Nigeria.

Across his first 99 appearances for the three-time African champions, Iwobi has contributed 10 goals and provided eight assists.

The versatile midfielder made his senior debut for the Super Eagles in a friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2015.

Since then, he has grown into one of Nigeria’s most consistent performers and remains a key figure in the national team setup.

The planned presentation of the commemorative plaque is expected to honour his decade-long service and commitment to the Super Eagles.
