Director of the Abuja School of Social Thought and Politics, Sam Amadi, has argued that most presidential hopefuls in the 2027 election are focusing their attention on the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Peter Obi, rather than President Bola Tinubu.
Amadi described the forthcoming 2027 presidential contest as the most unusual election in Nigeria’s political history.
Sharing his views on X, Amadi wrote: “Everyone is running against @PeterObi for the presidency, not against the incumbent president @officialABAT.
“This is the most farcical election in Nigeria’s history. And some self-proclaimed intellectuals and technocrats are fully immersed in the illogic.”
Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), is expected to seek the presidency again in 2027.
The former Anambra State governor is likely to face incumbent President Bola Tinubu and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar, who are considered among the leading contenders in the race.
