After Governor Siminalayi Fubara received harsh criticism from Samuel Nwanosike, the chairman of the state’s Ikwerre Local Government Area, a new political crisis appears to be developing in Rivers State.

The council chairman called Fubara naive in a widely shared video uploaded on his official X handle while speaking to his fans at Omerelu Community.

ZINGTIE recalls that in 2023, a struggle for dominance in the state caused Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to part ways. Wike is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory or FCT.

Wike’s ally, the LG Chairman, claimed that since taking over as governor of the state on May 29, 2023, Fubara has yet to accomplish anything.

He said, “Any day the likes of Chijioke sent by Fubara insults Wike, I’ll insult Fubara, so today, Fubara is a foolish Governor, he’s not a ‘mumu’ Governor but a foolish Governor because since he took office on May 29, he has done nothing for Rivers people.”

Nwanosike asserted that Fubara “is very naive and doesn’t know what governance is all about” and that Wike’s claim that he intended to seize Rivers State is untrue. By now, the local government would have sent him to Rivers State if he understood what governance was about.

“Go and look at Igirita roundabout by Igirita market by Eleka Road; deathtrap, can’t move. Kidnapping everywhere in Rivers State and you say you’re a Governor”.
