A prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has expressed disappointment over President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing the current state of the country as a “sad and unfortunate” turn after the sacrifices made to bring the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power.
Eze also praised the ADC leadership and all well-meaning Nigerians who have raised their voices against what he calls the alleged coordinated and undue interference by the Tinubu government in opposition party affairs. He believes this effort is aimed at diminishing their strength and establishing a one-party system in Nigeria.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze said that the President’s apparent plan to secure a smooth path to victory in the 2027 election and return to power unchallenged will be fiercely resisted by the determination of Nigerians who have shown patriotism by rejecting the President’s alleged attempts to impose a second term on the country.
Eze commended the Lagos Chapter of ADC for their ongoing protest against what he termed a corrupt system and encouraged the ADC leadership to ensure the protest continues for an extended period, so that the message for a free and credible election reaches those in charge of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“I suggest that this protest should not be a one or two-day action but should be carried out daily until Tinubu realizes the need to hold himself accountable,” Eze stated.
“After all, it was Tinubu who taught Nigerians this strategy, and it helped push the PDP out of power. We will now use it to rescue Nigeria from his deceptive hands.”
Eze called on Nigerians to unite with the ADC in their mission to free the country from the APC government, which, according to him, has inflicted untold hardship on the people.
“Shamefully, Tinubu is more focused on how he can turn himself into Paul Biya of Cameroon, perpetuating his rule despite his lack of leadership impact, which has left the country in a state of decline,” he said.
“It is tragic and disappointing that Tinubu and his government have led us down this shameful path after all we sacrificed to bring the APC to power,” he added.
Eze urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their determination to end the suffering caused by the Bola Tinubu administration.
