Ngozi Muotuanya, 63, has been arrested by the Anambra Police Command on suspicion of participating in interstate child trafficking.
After receiving reliable information, police officers from Oba Division detained the culprit.
This was revealed in a statement released in Awka on Wednesday by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police public relations officer.
“In a decisive move to unravel the mysterious disappearance of children in the state, especially in Oba and its environs, police operatives attached to the Oba Division on August 11 acting on credible intelligence, apprehended one Ngozi Muotuanya, a female from Awkuzu-Oba, aged 63-year-old,” he said.
Ikenga said the Niger State Police Command has received information from the Command about the child’s caretaker in Minna.
In addition to other required measures, he stated that police will assist with the child’s potential recovery and reunion with their parents.
