The wife of Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has raised an alarm over an alleged fraudulent plan to assemble women in Owerre Ezukala community, located in Orumba South Local Government Area, under the pretext of her scheduled visit.

In a statement issued by the Senior Media Aide to the Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Ezeigwe Daniel, Mrs. Soludo said she had no knowledge of the purported visit or the motive behind the false information.

She cautioned women in the community against responding to the invitation, describing the message currently circulating across several WhatsApp groups as fake.

The release read: “Our attention has been drawn to a message currently being circulated on certain WhatsApp groups claiming that Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, is scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala on an undisclosed date and calling on community members to gather at the Okegbe Health Centre to receive her.

“Members of the public, especially the people of Owerre-Ezukala, are advised to disregard the message in its entirety and refrain from forwarding or acting on unverified information. 

“This information is completely false and did not originate from the Governor’s Wife or the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.

“The Governor’s Wife’s activities and official engagements are communicated only through verified channels and authorized announcements.

“We urge everyone to verify information before sharing it to avoid spreading misinformation and causing unnecessary confusion or anxiety.”
