A passionate appeal has been made to the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, to intervene in the deteriorating condition of the Kaduna State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Pambegua campus. The campus, established by the former administration of Nasir El-rufai, was meant to improve access to the nursing profession and provide quality healthcare in the state.

However, the campus is facing numerous challenges, including lack of accommodation, inadequate teaching staff, and potable water supply. The situation has been further complicated by a breach of agreement between the school management and landlords, who have threatened to evict students over unpaid rents.

The Pambegua community, which had initially supported the campus, is now appealing to the governor to take urgent action. “If these measures are not put in place, the newly established Pambegua campus will suffer,” the community warns.

Specifically, the community is urging the governor to:

– Build and rehabilitate hostels to accommodate the increasing number of students

– Drill boreholes to address the acute water scarcity

– Install solar energy to address power challenges

– Deploy teaching staff to fill the shortage of personnel

The community’s appeal comes amid accusations that the school provost has done little to address the campus’s multifaceted problems. With the students’ welfare hanging in the balance, the governor’s intervention is seen as a matter of urgency.

The community’s passionate appeal to the governor is a call to action to save the Pambegua campus from decay and ensure it meets its potential as a premier institution for nursing and midwifery training in Kaduna State.
