Scottish Premiership champions, Celtic, have opened discussions with Kelechi Iheanacho over a new contract, ZINGTIE reports.
The Nigeria international made a strong impression at Celtic last season after joining the club on a free transfer.
Iheanacho scored several crucial goals as the Hoops completed a domestic double.
The 29-year-old found the net in important victories against Kilmarnock, Dundee, Hibernian and Motherwell.
The former Manchester City forward had been linked with a move to Turkey but now appears set to remain with the Bhoys.
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill confirmed that the club is working to secure a new deal for the striker.
“I’d like to do something with him, (Iheanacho),” O’Neill was quoted by Celtic Way.
“If we can do something relatively quickly, at least he then gets started in pre-season, which is really important for him. It’s something he didn’t have last year.”
