Justina, a pregnant mother, described the horrific events that resulted in her husband’s death and the destruction of their home by suspected herdsmen in a terrifying testimony she gave to TVC News from 2:10.

Justina, a mother of four, claims that she was sitting outside their house late at night when the attack happened. “I was sitting outside when my husband asked me to go inside. Later, he came and asked me to run with the children that herdsmen have invaded our community,” she recounted, her voice trembling with emotion.

As mayhem broke out in their community, Justina fled into the night with her children in search of protection. The destruction was tremendous when she came back the next day. The formerly tranquil hamlet was in ruins, and houses had been turned to ashes.

Unfortunately, Justina found her husband’s dead body among the wreckage. “When we came back the next day, I saw someone lying on the ground. I took a closer look and saw the lifeless body of my husband,” she said, struggling to hold back tears.

Many families have been forced to relocate and seek safety in other places as a result of the attack, which has left the community in deep sadness. In order to stop more violence, local officials have denounced the occurrence and demanded immediate action.

Concerned about the increasing number of attacks on rural areas, rights organizations have called on the government to increase security and provide assistance to impacted victims.

The path to recovery will be a long and difficult one for Justina and many others. She demands justice and protection to stop such tragedies from happening again as she faces an uncertain future with her unborn child and four other children.
