The National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, has officially endorsed former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke, as the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2027 general elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that Duke secured the clearance following the conclusion of the review process conducted by the Primaries Appeal Committee after the party’s recent primaries. The committee’s report was subsequently ratified by the NWC.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, the NWC also confirmed the approval of results from the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly primaries.

Ishaq explained that every candidate declared from the various exercises received approval to participate in the 2027 general elections, with the exception of the Tarauni Federal Constituency primary in Kano, which was nullified.

According to him, the party is preparing to present 420 candidates for the 2027 general elections.

Ishaq said, “In line with our dedication to being actively involved in the election process, the PRP is proud to have 420 candidates running for all the positions in the 2027 general elections.”

He reaffirmed the PRP’s dedication to internal democracy and service, while also stressing the party’s resolve to provide credible and transformative leadership for Nigerians.
